The Philippines has been devastated by the biggest storm ever to hit land. Millions of people have been affected, thousands are dead and the loss of life is expected to increase.
Please note: Funds raised in excess of $500,000 will be directed towards our Disaster Plus fund and used either for longer term recovery efforts in the areas impacted by this disaster or for other disaster response efforts across the world.

Baptist World Aid has launched an urgent relief appeal to respond to the crisis.
The massive destruction caused by the storm will require enormous relief efforts to supply survivors with food, water and shelter.
The scale of destruction is comparable to the impact of the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004. An estimated 4.3million people have been affected in over 36 provinces and local officials are saying that 70 to 80 percent of the central Philippines province of Leyte has been destroyed.
Heavy ships have been thrown on shore, houses razed and agricultural land decimated.
Tacloban city has no food, no water and no electricity. The most pressing needs are to get emergency supplies into Tacloban city and all affected areas.
“We are working on a relief effort with our local partners. Communities we work in have been impacted and we will keep you updated as we receive information on the extent of the devastation. Sadly, we already know that people from the communities where we work have been killed, and your prayers for these families especially would be appreciated.” John Hickey, CEO Baptist World Aid Australia.
Please pray for these communities and give generously to the people of the Philippines to help prevent the loss of more lives.
CHURCHES: Resources are available below to equip you to take up a special offering for the Philippines. Please get in contact with your local Church Relationship Coordinator here if you have any futher questions.
