Jane and her husband have five children and for a long time, their family in Kenya went hungry. They couldn’t afford to put their children in school and the crops they grew barely lasted three months. She had tried to breed and keep chickens, but they rarely survived. Then she heard about a program our Christian Partners ran in her community. She joined the program and learnt better agricultural practices and how to raise, care for, and breed chickens. Within eight months of joining the program, she had 250 chickens which laid 450 eggs. She sells chicks and eggs at the market, earning enough to feed her family and send her children to school. They have nutritious meals each day now as Jane raises even more chickens!
