Welcome to Baptist World Aid Australia

Volunteer with us

Baptist World Aid Australia relies heavily on the skills, talents and time of our wonderful volunteers as we work together to empower the world’s poor to lift themselves out of poverty. Their contribution helps keep administration costs to a minimum, ensuring we maximise our supporters’ donations, leaving more money to be sent overseas.

Volunteers work in every department and take care of a wide range of responsibilities including mail processing, coordinating letters between children and their sponsors, designing promotional material, financial administration and assisting Project Officers with the administration of SAO Children. Initial and ongoing training and support is provided for volunteers, including opportunities to take part in Baptist World Aid Australia orientation programs for employees.

Baptist World Aid Australia highly values our volunteers who play a vital role in being ‘Hands and Feet’ to the world’s poor.We are committed to best practice standards for volunteers, including the National Standards for Involving Volunteers in Not-for-Profit Organisations (developed by Volunteering Australia).

All volunteer applicants will be interviewed and undergo a Police and Working With Children check.

Why people volunteer with Baptist World Aid Australia:

  • To use their skills and experience to make a difference;
  • To gain work experience whilst studying or looking for work;
  • To meet new people and be part of a passionate and friendly team.
