It is an exciting time at Baptist World Aid as our child sponsorship program is growing. In partnership with Baptist churches and supporters around Australia we hope to sponsor 1800 children this year, it’s a stretch, but we are well on our way with 900 to go. Can you help us reach this goal?
Sponsor a child from the Philippines
There are currently over 100 children in Baptist World Aid’s Philippines projects who have been waiting over 10 months for a sponsor.
In the Philippines, cities are developing rapidly, but many areas are still incredibly poor. Children are growing up in communities that lack access to clean water and adequate sanitation. Opportunities for decent work are limited and parents struggle to feed their children nutritious food.
There are many children from Zambia who are yet to be linked with a sponsor.
Zambia is one of the poorest countries in the world. This poverty leaves children suffering in ways that are unheard of in Australia due to a lack of adequate access to healthcare, nutritious food or a decent education. Families in Zambia are literally living day to day.
Your ongoing sponsorship of less than $1.40 a day will help us work with children, families and the community to build safe, healthy and nurturing places for children, giving hope for a brighter future.
Rosie's Story
Rosie lives in a poor fishing village in the Philippines.
Her house has ocean views, but it doesn’t have any windows, or electricity, or even running water.
Every day Rosie helps her mother in their outdoor kitchen and sweeps the leaves off the sandy, dirt floor. Rosie’s older brother had to drop out of school and Rosie will have few opportunities to realise her own dreams of becoming a science teacher.
Although Rosie’s life now is very difficult, there is hope for the future.
Baptist World Aid Australia’s Christian partner SAO Philippines is working with Rosie, as well as her family and community to transform her world. As they do this together, Rosie and the other children in her community will be given the chance to shine.
