SAO1800 Resources for Churches

SAO1800 will help mobilise your church community into taking life changing action for 1,800 children in need through SAO Child Sponsorship. So far we have found over 800 sponsors but we still need your help to enable more children and families to lift themselves out of poverty.

Resources for churches:

Sermon Notes - James 1:27 - help your church understand who the widows and orphans of our world are and how we are called to help. 

Prayer Guide - to help your congregation pray for the poor and for SAO Child Sponsorship programs working with disadvantaged communities across the world.

Sunday School Activity - to help primary school age children understand child poverty and how we, as Christians, can help make a difference.

Youth Activity (instructions; handout; cards) - a simulation game which transports groups (‘families’) to Cambodia, where they make life-changing decisions that will impact the future for them and their children.

PowerPoint Slides - to help promote SAO Child Sponsorship in your church.

Bulletin Inserts (colour or black & white) - these are to be used if your church has also arranged to also have child profiles available after the service.
