Please pray with us in 2012
Pray for our SAO Child Sponsorship projects in the Philippines, Nepal, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Uganda, Malawi and Zambia and especially for new projects that will be starting in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Pray for the children and communities involved and for great improvements in children’s lives as they build a stronger future.
Ask that God would be working amongst the communities where our Christian partners are implementing programs. Pray that their work would improve the quality of life for people living in poverty and also plant seeds for the life to come.
Pray for Nepal and our partners HELP Nepal, United Mission to Nepal and the International Nepal Fellowship. Pray for stability as the government works towards a new constitution and that progress would be made on the protection of children and the provision of essential services, like healthcare and education.
Pray for our new partner Emmanuel Hospitals Association in India, as they begin work on new programs to protect girls and women from trafficking in northern India. Pray also for our partners Freeset in India and Chab Dai in Cambodia, who also work in the area of trafficking and support those who have been trafficked and exploited.
Pray for our partners Ukamba Christian Community Services and Catholic Relief Services as they work amongst communities and refugees affected by the drought in East Africa. Their support will be needed for many months to come as these communities get back on their feet. Pray for provision and for peace so that Somali refugees may be able to go home.
Pray for your church and churches across Australia as they continue to engage with issues of global poverty. Ask that God would help us all understand how we can be part of the solution as we show love to the world in Jesus’ name.
Our advocacy efforts this year will continue to focus on encouraging the Australian Government to improve the quantity and quality of aid that Australia sends overseas. Thank God for the great steps forward over the past five years and ask that our politicians would continue to be convicted of the importance of international aid and of the amazing benefits it can have for those in need. For more information and to find out how you can add your voice visit www.micahchallenge.org.au.
We will also begin to focus more on encouraging companies in Australia to pay close attention to their supply chains. Pray that company managers would not just see the bottom line but would want to provide better working conditions for the people who produce their goods no matter where they live in the world.
