Consume Ethically to reduce the impact on the poor.

The ways we consume can impact the poor for good or ill. Fostering ethical consumption habits develops a lifestyle of consuming less so that we have more to share with the poor; consuming sustainably so that we do not harm the environment on which the poor depend; and consuming fairly by buying goods that ensure a fair return and decent working conditions for their producers.

Pray Faithfully for the poor, oppressed and vulnerable.

Prayer is such a vital and life-giving aspect of our faith. God's answers have power in our lives and in the world around us. Pray for those in need; that families in poverty can share in the earth's abundant resources as we do, that they will be protected from violence and exploitation, that world and community leaders might hear God's call to defend the poor, that you might continue to develop a generous and humble lifestyle.
