In remote areas of the Solomon Islands there is often no health centre or medical personnel. This means that otherwise easily treatable conditions like diarrhoea, or injuries can become serious and even fatal.

Baptist World Aid Australia's partner trains women in these remote villages and islands in basic first aid and provides them with a first aid kit so they can help reduce the effects of illness and also advise when further medical attention is needed. These women also help raise awareness about health issues such as good nutrition and hygiene.
