What does Jesus want for His birthday?

Imagine your friends organised a big birthday party for you, but you weren’t invited.

Well, this happens to Jesus every year.

Billions are spent celebrating the birth of Christ, yet He hardly gets a look in. At times, even Christians fail to give Jesus a second thought once the early church service is over.

While teaching a year three Scripture class a girl asked me, “If it’s Jesus’ birthday, how come we get all the presents?” A very good question!

So, what does Jesus want for His birthday?

Matt 25:31-46 tells us that when we give to the needy we are giving to Jesus. “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink...” This is the sort of gift Jesus wants us to give at Christmas.
